For nearly two years, I have had the privilege of serving with Still Water Camps Ministry—a
journey that began with a simple invitation to attend the annual vision dinner. At the time, my husband and I almost chose not to go, as we were walking through a season of financial
uncertainty following a year of unemployment. Still, we felt led to learn more about this local ministry. That evening, God stirred something deeply in my heart and spoke with unmistakable clarity: I was called to be involved. At the time, I had been actively praying about overseas missions for our family, but in that moment, God gently redirected my perspective—reminding me, “This is missions. It just happens to be an hour away.” That summer, I stepped out in faith and served at all seven overnight camps consecutively, with my children by my side. My husband joined us on weekends, faithfully supporting the work and serving wherever needed. What began as a step of obedience quickly became a calling for our entire family. Since then, I have continued serving part-time as a field representative, building relationships and helping expand the ministry’s reach. I have continued to serve at our overnight camps and I also now serve as a Champ Camp director and lead a NUEYO group for young girls, investing in the next generation through discipleship and community. Amazingly, God has since called my husband into the Still Water ministry full-time as the Hill Country Area Director and Director of Camping Logistics. It is incredible to see how God can multiply one simple “yes” into something far greater than we could have imagined. As one of my favorite verses says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11 Our family is deeply grateful to be part of a ministry that is faithfully advancing the Kingdom and impacting lives for Christ!
